The Roggeveld Wind Farm is a 147 MW wind farm project owned by Red Rocket; a fully integrated African Independent Power Producer. Headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, Red Rocket has 377MW of renewable energy projects in operation, under construction and Near Notice To Proceed (NNTP) projects across the African continent.

Overview
Located along the straddling boundaries between the Western Cape and Northern Cape Provinces near the towns of Laingsburg, Matjiesfontein and Sutherland, the Roggeveld Wind Farm will generate around 613 GWh per year. The energy generated will satisfy the energy needs of roughly 49 200 households every year while avoiding the emission of about 502 900 tons of CO2 emissions.
Developed under the South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), the wind farm’s primary purchaser of power generated will be Eskom.
